Abstract

The Web-Based Attendance and Result Management System is a website-based project which is created for the institution (NSTU) to process and store student results. HTML, CSS, and JavaScript are used for the front-end development, and PHP, Laravel framework, and MYSQL database are used for the back-end development. The project aims and manage semester results automatically. The project has four types of users such as Register, Department or Department Head (Chairman), Teachers, and Students. Firstly, the Register could add, update and delete departments, Sessions, Halls, and designation of teachers. Secondly, the Department or Chairman could add, update and delete teachers of the departments, courses of a specific semester of a specific batch, course teachers, 2nd examiner, 3rd examiner (if necessary) of any course, and students of the departments. The department or chairman could also view the result of any batch or student and also see the processing results and which teachers submitted their course results. He could also download specific batch results and manage the result processing systems. Thirdly, Teachers can take attendance, submit their class test marks, assignment marks, lab report marks, quiz marks, viva voce marks and final term marks as a course teacher. As a 2nd examiner and 3rd examiner teachers can only add term final marks. And finally, the students could see their attendance percentage, class test marks and assignment marks according to subject wise. They also download the mark sheets after publishing the result. The students and teachers can’t access the website if the department doesn’t give access to them. The Department give the students and teacher username and password to them for secure purpose and easy maintenance and then the student and teacher could access the website. The full results system will be under the control of the department head (Chairman) to manage and maintain the whole system. KEYWORDS: Keywords are HTML, CSS, JAVASCRIPT, PHP LARAVEL and MYSQL.
